Avant Bard Theatre

Three ASL-interpreted productions

January – June 2023

Avant Bard Theatre is a performing arts organization dedicated primarily to producing classic works–both time-tested and contemporary classics; emphasizing a provocative, bold approach in an intimate setting; and training and showcasing the best emerging talent in the region, mentored by seasoned, professional theatre artists.

GLOBAL YNS’ Performing Arts Sign Language Interpreters delivered a high-register interpretation of auditory information into visual a tactile Sign Language. ASL interpreters and Directors of Artistic Sign Language (DAS) provided equal access to Deaf, Deaf-blind, and hard-of-hearing audiences who attended the 2023 Spring-Summer theatre season. Below are the productions that were ASL interpreted by our ASL performing arts sign language division:

Billy and George, written by Ken Jones and Daryl L. Harris.

Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar

Hurricane Diane

Testimonial

Thank you so much YNS!! Once again, we were extremely impressed and pleased with the ASL Interpretation team. Katie is an amazing leader and everyone was great to work with. I deeply appreciate your understanding and your team’s willingness to work with us on this issue this past year.
